I am writing an essay on Harvey Milk for school. We had to pick a leader who inspired us and he is without a doubt inspirational. Something must be done to change the attitudes especially among young people towards gay and trans-gender people and it has to change soon.

harvey milk was a asordinary man, he did what most gay people dont have the nerve to do, which is stand strong for what you beilive in, and hope for the best wether you thought a positive out come would happen or not… if there were more ppl like him there would be a lot more gay ppl actually living their lives, because not only would they feel safe to do it, it would be ok thank you harvey

I just watched the movie Milk and I am deeply angered by the educational system! I am 24 years old and was NEVER taught about Mr. Milk. This man should be honored and should be taught about. I was taught about the “civil rights movement” but apparently was not taught it all since I never heard about this person. My child will be taught about him whether it is through me or school. However if she is not taught about him and this movement in school I will be doing whatever i can to have it put into the curriculum.

Yes, we do need allies.My hope is that some day we won’t need to have allies as everyone will be seen as equal regardless of race, colour or sexual orientation. Some day soon.

Being from Canada means we have a little more tolerance. But still, the ignorance exists. Educate yourselves folks………really educate yourselves……..Being an LGBTT community member or educated ally is a good thing…..as a matter of fact, a great thing!

Can’t wait to visit Castro Street and where the Harvey Milk camera store was next year with my gorgeous wife. The world needs more love to all humanity. I was deeply saddened by the movie “Milk,” and think it is very unfortunate that a great number of people still feel the same towards the gay population. STOP THE HATRED PEOPLE!!!!! Gays are human like everybody else.
